Beech Lodge is a purpose-built bungalow near Horsham in West Sussex specialising in providing care for young adults with learning and physical disabilities.
The home, which has been equipped with all the latest technological aids, provides a safe, comfortable, homely environment.
Philosophy
Our aim is to provide a care home that offers support and stimulation to help service users maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity within an individual person-centred plan. Service users have the right to live as normal a life as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
The friendly and homely atmosphere we have created at Beech Lodge ensures that the service users are able to continue their lifestyle with personal privacy and dignity. The peace and tranquillity of our lovely home and gardens are enjoyed by our service users who can have complete confidence in our high standards of care.
Facilities
The home comprises two wings of ten bedrooms all with en suite facilities and provides specialist nursing care for people with learning and/or physical difficulties aged 18 to 65.

Care
Nursing care is of prime importance and is provided 24 hours a day by qualified staff under the personal supervision of the Registered Manager. Local GPs visit the home regularly and are on call at all times.
Therapy input
Sussex Health Care retain the services of a wide range of therapists and expert advice is available on all aspects of care, recreational pursuits or environment. Complementary therapies such as aromatherapy, music and reflexology are available.
Activities
Beech Lodge has the benefit of an Activity Organiser, who devises and carries out personalised activity plans, alongside the service user's own key worker.
The many activities include dance and movement, music, arts and crafts, cooking, hydrotherapy and swimming.
We have the use of our own specially adapted vehicles for outings and sporting activities.
Participation in further education and leisure activities at local colleges and outreach facilities are available to all service users.
Every effort is made to enable service users to keep in touch with relatives and friends. Advocacy and volunteer befriending schemes are encouraged.
Cuisine
Our experienced chef prepares interesting and homely meals with attention to individual requirements and special diets.
Training
All care staff undertake an induction programme of instruction when they join Sussex Health Care. Thereafter, a system of supervision and support enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the Sussex Health Care training team, and NVQ courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges.

Beech Lodge is located on the A281 (Guildford-Horsham road) about three miles west of Horsham in West Sussex.
