Kingsmead Lodge is a purpose-built bungalow on the outskirts of Horsham, West Sussex, that provides care for adults with learning and physical disabilities.
This specialist care home with nursing facilities has been equipped with all the latest technological aids and provides a safe, comfortable, homely environment for our service users.
Philosophy
Our aim is to provide a home that offers a safe, comfortable environment with support and stimulation to help service users maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity within an individual person-centred plan. Service users have the right to live as normal a life as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
Facilities
Kingsmead Lodge is a specialist adult care home providing 20 places for people with learning and/or physically disabilities aged 18 to 65 years. The single storey development has two 10-bed areas and each bedroom has an en suite WC and wash-basin and is fitted with a track hoist system. The rooms are situated around a quiet courtyard garden giving a tranquil setting. There are plenty of day areas with two lounges and two lounge/dining rooms and spacious activity unit.
The house is situated on a main road leading into Horsham and is convenient for all local services with bus stop, church and a pub nearby.

Care and Nursing
The home is registered to provide nursing and residential care and has two small separate residential areas with a large activity unit with sensory room and spa bath.
The home is led by an experienced Home Manager and staffed with a qualified nurse 24 hours a day and a team of dedicated carers, experienced and trained in supporting service users.
Therapy Input
Qualified speech and physiotherapists are available to provide individual therapy sessions. Reflexology and aromatherapy are also available as part of a wide range of complementary therapies.
Activities
A full programme of activities is available in the home and transport is provided so that service users are also able to utilise the considerable facilities for leisure and education in Horsham and surrounding areas. The activity unit is staffed by carers and led by an experienced co-ordinator.
Cuisine
Home cooked food using fresh local produce is a feature of Sussex Health Care establishments and a chef is employed to provide excellent meals with the menus prepared in conjunction with the residents.
Training
Care staff undertake an induction programme of instruction when joining Sussex Health Care. In addition a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the Sussex Health Care training team and NVQ courses are undertaken.

Kingsmead Lodge is located in the Roffey area on the outskirts of Horsham, West Sussex, close to the A264 Horsham to Crawley road.
