This spacious and peaceful care home is located in Billingshurst, West Sussex. It provides specialist care and nursing for older people.
The home also provides specialist care for older people who are mentally frail and suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
Philosophy
Our aim is to provide a home that offers a safe, comfortable environment with support and stimulation to help service users maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity. Service users have the right to live as normal a life as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
Facilities
The home provides care for older people with nursing support for people with more complex medical needs. It comprises 40 places for people aged 65 years and over and 14 mentally infirm places for people aged 65 years and over. The bedrooms all have an en suite WC and wash-basin and are situated around a quiet courtyard garden giving a peaceful setting.
There are plenty of day areas with four lounges, a quiet room and a spacious dining room overlooking the gardens. There is a self-contained and small, cosy unit for service users with Alzheimer’s Disease, which has its own lounge/dining room and gardens.
The day centre is also available for residents of Billingshurst and surrounding areas. A full programme of activities is provided and there is hairdressing salon and bathing facilities.

Care and Nursing
The home is led by an experienced Home Manager and is staffed with a qualified nurse 24 hours a day with a team of dedicated carers, experienced and trained in supporting older people. The 14 bed facility for those with Alzheimers Disease is staffed by carers and led by an experienced manager.
Therapy
Sussex Health Care retain the services of a range of therapists – physiotherapy, occupational therapy and reflexology are available on request. Experts are available to advise on any aspect of a service users care, recreational pursuits or environment. Chiropody and physiotherapy are available for all service users.
Activities
A full programme of activities is available in the home led by an experienced activity organiser. In addition, the day centre has its own experienced staff and provides a wide range of activities that service users can attend.
Cuisine
Our experienced chef prepares interesting and homely cuisine using fresh local produce and with attention to individual requirements and any special diets.
Training
Care staff undertake an induction programme of instruction when joining Sussex Health Care. In addition a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the Sussex Health Care training team and NVQ courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges.
