Top National Award for Sussex Health Care
At the inaugural Laing & Buisson Healthcare Awards Sussex Health Care won the Medical Practice award.
This prestigious event was held at the London Marriot on 21st September, 2006 and was hosted by Clive Anderson the TV personality.
The Medical Practice award recognised the research project that Sussex Health Care have been undertaking with the University of Central England and Professor George Castledine. Carol Dilley, Head of Training and Elderly Care, Vivienne Davis, NVQ Coordinator/Trainer and Michelle Grainger a qualified nurse/researcher studying for a Masters Degree at the University of Central England collected the award on behalf of Sussex Health Care.
Sussex Health Care already a holder of the quality awards HQS, ISO and the Investors in People Award are delighted to have their considerable investment in training and research recognised by this award.
Research based care is carried out in Sussex Health Care homes by qualified and well trained staff but this is only made possible by the generous funding that the proprietors commit to continuing professional development.
Sussex Health Care was started in 1985 with the acquisition of one home and now has expanded to provide over 400 beds in 15 registered homes. Care is provided for a wide range of service users from young disabled adults with physical and learning disabilities to elderly care for those with physical frailty and/or those with mental health problems in later life.
