Rapkyns Care Home is a beautiful country house standing in 40 acres of landscaped grounds near Horsham in West Sussex.
This spacious and well-equipped house provides care and nursing for older people including those who are mentally frail with dementia. The staff team is skilled in this specialist care. Rapkyns Care Home also provides specialist care for people with neurological conditions.
Philosophy
Our aim is to provide a residential house that offers a safe, comfortable environment with support and stimulation to help service users maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity. Service users have the right to live as normal a life as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
The friendly and homely atmosphere we have created at Rapkyns Care Home ensures that service users are able to continue their lifestyle with personal privacy and dignity. The peace and tranquillity of our lovely home and gardens is enjoyed by the service users and they are confident of the high standard of care provision.
Facilities
The spacious house has been tastefully extended to provide single or shared rooms many with en suite bathroom facilities. The level gardens are ideal for walking or sitting and features a lake which is home to a large variety of water birds, a walled rose garden and a wonderful variety of mature shrubs and trees.

Nursing Care
Nursing care is of prime importance and is provided 24 hours a day by qualified staff under the personal supervision of the Registered Manager. Local GPs visit the home regularly and are on call at all times.
Therapy Input
Sussex Health Care retain the services of a range of therapists. Physiotherapy, occupational therapy and reflexology are available on request. Expert advice is available to advise on any aspect of a service users care, recreational pursuits or environment.
Activities
The Activities programme is one of the most important aspects of life at Rapkyns Care Home and the activities centre in the grounds is a lively place. A huge range of activities are undertaken by the service users including handicrafts, quizzes, reminiscence sessions, music and movement, cookery and art therapy. The key aims of the programme are provision of mental stimulation, continuation of hobbies and interests and prolonging mobility.
Cuisine
Our experienced chef prepares interesting and homely meals with attention to individual requirements and any special diets. Mealtimes are an important social interlude at Rapkyns Care Home and great care is taken to ensure that meals are attractively presented and elegantly served.
Training
Care staff undertake an induction programme of instruction when joining Sussex Health Care. In addition a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the Sussex Health Care training team and NVQ courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges.

Rapkyns Care Home is located in the village of Broadbridge Heath, off the A281 and A29 just outside Horsham in West Sussex.
