Care and Support
The home is registered to provide nursing and residential care, led by an experienced Home Manager. It is staffed with a qualified nurse 24 hours a day and a team of dedicated carers, experienced and trained in care and support.
SHC has access to a range of trusted external therapists, and physiotherapists are available to provide individual therapy sessions. Reflexology and aromatherapy are also available as part of a wide range of complementary therapies.
A full programme of activities is available in the home and transport is provided so that individuals are also able to utilise the considerable facilities for leisure and education in Horsham and surrounding areas. The activity unit is staffed by carers and led by an experienced Activities Co-ordinator.
Home-cooked food using fresh local produce is a feature of SHC establishments, and a chef is employed to provide excellent meals with the menus prepared in conjunction with the residents.
All staff undertake an induction programme when joining SHC. In addition, a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the SHC Training Academy and QCF courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges.
